SalvationData FAQ - HD Doctor for Maxtor

A HDD becomes full of bad tracks after recovering firmware, what’s the reason?
Generally, you only need to recover the error modules and uploading all modules is not recommended. If you need to upload all modules, you should first backup P-list and import it after uploading modules. Otherwise, it will cause HDD full of bad tracks.

A HDD is detected ?ATHENA?in BIOS and ?!!!!!!?by MHDD, how to repair it?
It should be firmware corruption. Set the HDD in safe mode and boot it into SA to recover the corrupted modules.

How to operate HOT SWAP PCB?
First, find a good identical HDD and connect it to the console. Launch the program, and then stop the spindle motor only. Remove PCB with power on and install it on the malfunction HPA (Head and Platter Assembly). Then restart the motor, now you can operate on SA.
