Print to USB printer (Host: Vista Home,  Guest: Server 2003)
1. install printer on host and share it; also, prepare a password-protected windows account
2. install Microsoft Loopback Adapter driver on host
3. vm Adapter-1 setting: Microsoft Loopback Adapter
4. on vm, connect to shared printer on host using account prepared on step 1

VPC 2007 Ctrl+Alt+Del: Right Alt + Del

[Inside XP Mode,] You need to manually create "Programs on the XP VM" folder under "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu". Once shortcut gets placed there, it also gets copied to Windows 7 menu.

Sandboxie: Free vs Paid version

The Paid version has the following features:
• "Force" programs: Automatically run programs under Sandboxie even when they are not started directly through Sandboxie. Programs can be "forced" by name or by containing folder.
• Run programs in more than one sandbox at the same time. This causes error SBIE1303 in the free version.

Also, it removes the nag screen that initially appears after you have used Sandboxie for more than 30 days

Vmware Server: Datastore Browser could not successfully retrieve data from the server

One possible cause is that the folder containing VMs is not accessible when vmware daemon is started.
After checking that the folder is now accessible, restart vmware daemon:
/etc/init.d/vmware restart

If it fails, try:
Select datastore in question
Click Commands > Refresh Datastore

If it fails, try the following:
1) re-Add VM, or
2) re-create datastore

Installer error: Check system date before you install

Make sure the dates on installer file's Properties are not later than system date
Use FPC (File Properties Changer) if necessary to modify those dates

VMWARE: Some keyboard keys aren't working inside guest OS

Add this line to /etc/vmware/config:

nokeycodeMap = true

VMWARE: NAT, Bridged, HostOnly

Bridged = your guest looks like just another PC on your network - visible to other machines.

NAT = your guest is hidden from other PCs on your network, but can get out to the network (and others can reach specific services on your guest via port mapping). This is just like a NAT router - whether hardware or software.

Host-Only = a private network between your host and guest. Your guest has no connection to the rest of the network, and no other PCs can reach your guest.

Chrome_elf.dll is missing :

This is related to the missing chrome_elf.dll problem. Something is getting messed up in the sandbox, probably with the chrome profile, and chrome can no longer find this dll. Deleting the contents of the sandbox will fix the problem.
